The 16-year-old will remain in custody until his next court date in February.
The guilty plea was entered at Cowra Children’s Court on Wednesday.
This charge joins two separate matters, break, enter and steal and larceny, that the young person was already on bail for.
On December 9 last year, the teenager grabbed then threatened an 86-year-old man at his Lee Street unit with a hammer.
He was arrested and charged when he attended Cowra Police Station on December 13.
He’s been in custody since.
All three matters will be dealt with when the youth appears in Cowra Children’s Court on February 22.
