The two hour Fields of Gold Tours are open to tourists and locals and include:
A guided tour of canola and countryside near Cowra, including commentary with general information about canola.
Photo opportunities at designated canola ‘hot spots’.
A Cowra town tour, including commentary.
A canola ‘goodie bag’ and take home fact sheet.
Assistant Cowra Tourism manager Andrew Grinter said: “The paddocks of canola crops in flower are loved by locals and tourists alike.”
“Tourists love the intense yellow of this crop and are interested in learning more about how the crop is grown and the oil produced from the seed when harvested.
“Cowra Tourism is passionate about promoting the Cowra region and the tours are a great way for people to see our beautiful countryside in an easy and enjoyable way.”
Mr Grinter went on to say: "Cowra has a vibrant history and the short town tour provides an insight into what has shaped the Cowra we know and love by visiting several local attractions, such as the Prisoner of War campsite and Scenic Lookout, which also provide sensational views of Cowra and surrounds".
The Fields of Gold Tours are conducted by Cowra Tourism Corporation with Cowra Bus Service, at a cost of $45 per person, and will be operating on Saturdays and Sundays throughout September and early October, depending on how the season progresses.
