Hosted by local stud, Coota Park Blue-E, the beef production field day will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at Woodstock from 10am to 3.30pm.
Beef will be on the menu, supplied by Coota Park Blue-E principal Jon Wright, with Richard Morgan stepping in to prepare it to perfection.
"Richard will be providing his expertise to turn it into a beautiful lunch," he said.
Tickets are $20 each, with RSVP by Monday, August 4. With all proceeds going towards Meals on Wheels, Mr Wright said he's hoping for a good turnout.
High profile guest speakers will include Ian McConnell, national project co-ordinator for sustainable beef at the World Wildlife Foundation - Australia, outlining how beef producers and environmentalists can work together.
Dr Paul Cusack, Australian Livestock Production Services, will cover supplementary feeding, while Grazing Naturally facilitator Dick Richardson will speak on ecology, people and livestock.
Practical demonstrations of low-stress stock handling will be given by Angus Waddell, of Waddy's Collies, and Professor Michael D'Occhio, University of Sydney's Centre for Carbon, Water and Food, will speak on new ways of identifying poor performing cows.
Rounding out the program is leadership coach Matthew Wright on using the "productivity ninja'' to achieve personal goals, and Meat and Livestock's market analyst Tim McRae on the game changers for Australian beef.
Mr Wright said the field day will aim to provide a variety of stimulating talks addressing issues faced by beef producers on a daily basis.
"Sometimes it is good to be challenged and think outside the box - many of these speakers will encourage us to do this,'' Mr Wright said.
His own talk, titled "Toughen up Princess'', will focus on the management of replacement heifers for maximum production and minimum inputs.
In addition, there will be men's health check-ups courtesy of the Community Health Pit Stop program.
Field day participants will go into the draw for a six week lease of a Blue-E bull.
