With a battle cry loud enough to rouse the dead and enough energy to power an entire city, 26 kids in the Cowra PCYC Holiday Care program took advantage of the glorious sunshine and ran amok at the Cowra Japanese Gardens on Wednesday, October 2.

Keeping up with the small army was Kim Grinter, who said that the excursion was a great chance to shake off cabin fever and explore one of the cultural high-points of our community.
"We offer an educational program as well as a leisure program, and part of that is to experience diversity and the culture that we have within our community," Ms Grinter said.
"We bring them here to enjoy the sunshine, to have a look at some of the plants and the fish and get an idea about the Japanese culture, but also to be together as a group and experience the outdoors."
The children enrolled in the program range in age from five to 14 years old and were accompanied by several adults to help keep a watchful eye on them.
Keeping track of 26 bundles of energy can be tricky at times, but Ms Grinter said that all the kids in the program are pretty well-behaved.
"They all know the rules if the whistle is blown, they all come to the person and they know to keep within sight of the adults so they're all pretty good," Ms Grinter said.
