Your new company
Electricity infrastructure company operating across NSW and QLD. The Energy Industry is undergoing an unprecedented transition on a global level. Decarbonisation, decentralisation, and digitisation are fundamentally changing the way they think about serving customers in regional, rural and remote NSW. They are currently seeking a key member of the Regulatory and Stakeholder Affairs team to help drive the organisation’s regulatory strategy to support this transition.

Your new role

  • Leading the development of the organisations’ regulatory strategy
  • Developing policy positions by engaging and consulting with divisional units
  • Supporting the delivery of a range of innovation programs
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as NSW Government, AEMC and AER
  • Developing guidelines to deliver the regulatory strategy
  • Helping to shape the regulatory environment in which the organisation operates
  • Preparing advice and submissions to regulatory agencies on a range of regulatory developments
  • Identifying issues which may impact the delivery of the regulatory strategy and establishing effective ways to address these

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong background in regulatory strategy development and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and delivery policy outcomes in the energy sector
  • Understanding of the National and NSW legislative, regulatory and policy framework effecting the electricity distribution sector
  • Exceptional strategic and analytical skills, and strong business acumen
  • The ability to translate complex information into relevant and persuasive policy options
  • Expertise in influencing government and regulatory bodies in policy development
  • Knowledge and expertise in regulatory affairs
  • Proven experience in a similar senior policy, compliance or regulatory role
  • Excellent communication, presentation and business writing skills
  • Demonstrated expertise as a collaborative, commercially minded individual
  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance, Business or another relevant discipline
