Your new company
Your new company is Australia’s leading manufacturer of antipasto products. Located in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, the company supplies product to tier 1 clients including all major retailers, food services businesses and industrial customers. Your new role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a staff of between 100-120 on site, increasing over 170 during peak season. Reporting into the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for driving team performance, managing day to day activities within packaging and processing and setting the standard for workplace safety. You will be looking to drive the company forward with your knowledge of continuous improvement processes, display excellent people management skills and inspire your team to take the next step. Working with the production planner you will be responsible for allocation of factory labour, liaise cross-functionally with internal stakeholders in areas of sales, quality and maintenance to ensure optimum site performance against set KPIs.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing, with a focus on efficiency improvement, process streamlining and cost reduction
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety processes and regulatory compliance, OH&S and QA processes
  • Proven ability to manage large teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Genuine passion about the food industry, particularly produce
  • Proven ability to liaise cross-functionally
