Administration Officer - Front Office & Consulting Suites

Our Patient Services Team have several vacancies for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work alongside our team of Administration staff in supporting the hospital's Admissions, Reception and Consulting Suites.

As an Administration Officer your responsibilities will include:

Perform a broad range of administration duties including:

  • Manage a busy reception desk
  • Answer and redirect calls
  • Organise appointments and prepare admission paperwork
  • Conduct follow up requests and make reminder calls for visits
  • Maintain accurate and effective record management systems including preparation of medical records
  • Perform Health Fund Checks as required
  • Manage the collection of excesses/co payments
  • Coordinate with staff from other departments
  • Complete other clerical tasks such as data entry

Selection Criteria:

  • General clerical experience (hospital/medical practice setting preferred)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Professional and courteous phone manner
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts - early/late shifts & weekend work
  • Ability to communicate with all Health Professionals

Desirable criteria:

  • Health fund validation experience
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Experience working with WebPAS, Zedmed, Excel, Word and Outlook
