The Paul Braddon-trained dog blitzed the Dawson Park on his way to scoring a convincing victory in the annual feature event.
After drawing box one Braddon’s hope was always the one to beat and he jumped as a $1.30 favourite.
He went wide when jumping out but soon got to the lead and the lead grew as the field went into the back straight in the 516m event.
The Charmaine Roberts-trained Cliff Keeping ($6.70) was gallant and tried to make ground on the leader but Metallic Flash was far too strong, powering to a four-and-one-quarter length win in front of a bumper crowd.
The win was Metallic Flash’s 12th from 26 career starts for Braddon.
Cliff Keeping was second while Raymond Smith’s veteran Big Daddy Bee ($9.20) was third.
The win was one of two for Braddon on the night, with Double Up Dee taking out the Merry Xmas Happy New Year Stakes (400m).
Roberts missed out in the meeting’s main event but still celebrated a winning treble at the club’s Christmas meeting.
The impressive Bolt Keeping took out the Get Up Lucy Lou Stakes (318m) before Jingles Keeping won an extremelt competitive Zipping Flex at Stud Stakes (516m).
Roberts also saluted in the night’s penultimate event, with Amelia Keeping winning one of the Ladbrokes Daily Video 0-3 Wins Series heats.
Racing returns to Dubbo on December 28.
