The incident occurred on Bennett Springs Road, Hovells Creek.
NSW Ambulance received a triple 000 call just before midday saying the man had fallen from the cherry picker into the tree.
Inspector Rhys Dive, with NSW Ambulance, said the man was working upgrading a causeway when the incident occurred.
Inspector Dive said the man’s injuries were serious, and as a result an NSW Ambulance rescue truck and rescue helicopter were sent to the scene, with paramedics from both Blayney and Cowra attending.
Inspector Dive said the man’s workmates had assisted at the scene until paramedics arrived and stabilised him, before he was transferred to Orange in a serious condition, for further treatment.
