A team of 10 took part in the state championships at Olympic Park on Thursday, November 9, which ultimately defeated Parkes Public School in the championship round.
The format of the Todd Woodbridge Cup involves two games of boys doubles, girls doubles and four mix doubles games.
Team manager Renae Downes praised the team’s performance.
“I’m very proud. They played so well and played with sportsmanship and integrity. It was really good,” Renae Downes said.
“They did get signatures, team photo and had Todd Woodbridge present the trophy and the medallions,” she added.
St Raphael’s qualified for the state championships after negotiating the zone qualifiers in Cowra.
At Olympic Park, the team progressed as winners of their pool, defeated St Mary’s in the semi-finals and accounted for Parkes in the final.
It’s the second year the state wide competition has been contested.
Last year, St Raphael’s finished third.
Mulyan Public School was also in action at the Todd Woodbridge Cup championships however missed out on the semi-finals.
They did get signatures, team photo and had Todd Woodbridge present the trophy.
