Thousands are again expected to share the magic of Christmas at Cowra’s Christmas Street Festival in Kendal Street on Friday, December 8.
Between 6pm and 9pm the town’s main street will be transformed into a venue filled with live entertainment, market stalls and late night shopping.
This year’s entertainment program is packed with high quality performers from around the region.
“None of this would be possible without our generous sponsors; Domino's Cowra, Beecher Wool Services, Lachlan Fertilizers, Fly Oz, Cowra Bunnings and Elders Insurance who joined as sponsors for the event this year,” Cowra Tourism Manager, Belinda Virgo said.
"It is wonderful to see local businesses come onboard as supporters of this important event for our region.
“The sponsors this year come from a range of industries across Cowra including businesses not directly related to the event, we appreciate this kind support.
“Sponsorship income is used to promote and develop the Christmas Street Festival with the aim to grow the event each year.
“Several of our event sponsors have been long time supporters including Lachlan Fertilizers, supporters since the event was launched in 2013,” Ms Virgo said.
Kevin Siegert of Lachlan Fertilisers said they are very proud to support this local initiative.
“Our commitment to the Cowra community is a key factor in everything we involve ourselves in.”
Ms Virgo thanked the event partners Cowra Shire Council, Cowra Business Chamber and Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre.
“Cowra Tourism would also like to express gratitude to our media partners for 2017; Channel Nine, Triple MMM, Hit 105.9 FM and Cowra Guardian newspaper.:
The event, she said, is also made possible by the volunteers and businesses that offer their support.
Donations of all sorts ranging from the entertainment stage, hay bales, chairs and lighting are kindly given to the organising committee to keep costs down and to keep the event itself viable.
With the support of our sponsors, event and media partners, the 2017 Cowra Christmas Street Festival is going to be bigger and better than ever,” Ms Virgo said.
“Live entertainment, market stalls, late night shopping, the Cowra Guardian Christmas Cracker draw, Animal Petting Zoo and CINC Christmas Wonderland are planned for this year along with a few new surprises… keep up to date with all the latest event info by liking Cowra Christmas Street Festival on Facebook or go to www.visitcowra.com.au for more details.”
Ms Virgo reminded businesses and groups it’s not too late to apply for a stall at this year’s Christmas Street Festival with limited stalls available with applications closing Friday, November 17 at 5pm.
