Hayes picked up the best and fairest gong and was also recognised as players’ player for the season.
The season was Hayes’ first season at Mariners and it was a busy year playing 28 games for the under 13s and playing up in a further 14 games for the under 14s Western NSW Mariners.
Many of the games were played in Sydney against various clubs.
Also, through the course of the year, he was selected to play in the Western NSW Football squad who played in Griffith through a week of competition.
Western NSW Football finished as country champions. He was then selected in the NSW Country team and named co-captain.
The squad travelled recently to Coffs Harbour and played more a week of soccer at the FFA National Youth Championships. Cowra’s Bevan Foxall, under 14s, also represented NSW Country.
