There were 48 players who took part in the event, with scoring low in in good conditions.
Winners of the day with a nine under par 62, and a nett score of 52.875, was the team of Mick Curtale, Chris Day, Cameron Prescott and Les Pinkerton.
The team of Robert Oliver, Len Oliver, Nick Oliver and David Wentworth ran second, with a scratch score of 64, and a nett score of 55.25.
Nearest to the pins
Cowra Subway nearest to the pins were won by David Wentworth, Mick Curtale, Peter Kirwan an Peter Garlick.
The Leigh Browne Building nearest to the pins were won by Peter Kirwan and Matt Steward.
Balls went down to 59 3/8 nett.
The Thursday competition was won by Harold Bryant with a great score of 43 points, winning by 5 from Mick Prescott on 38.
Third place was won by Jeff Macpherson with 37 points, which he won on a countback from Danny Withers.
This Saturday is the October Monthly Medal, and we would like to thank the sponsor Bagz Brady.
Ladies’ golf
On Wednesday the Skin & Beauty Emporium Trophy Day was held on Wednesday when we played an 18 holes Stableford.
It was a very pleasant Spring day with some good results being recorded.
Thank you to Terri Thompson for the terrific vouchers.
Division one went to the very consistent Jan Luce taking home the trophy with 39 points. Carol Webb was second with a fine 36 on a countback from Sylvia McCormack.
Division two saw another great score of 38 points by Jo Bush from the runner up Annette Sutherland with 34 points.
Sylvia McCormack took out the nearest the pins on the Fagan 5th and the Coogee Kelpie Stud 14th and no one was able to reach the 7th in one. Well done Sylvia.
Ball winners were Jan Luce, Jo Bush, Carol Webb, Sylvia McCoermack, Trish Moerkerken and Jenny Dresser. Ball went to 34 points on a countback.
Last week our pennants team of Holly Picker, Jenny Dresser, Sue Smith, Carol Webb and Annette Sutherland played the final against Wentworth at Warren and played well but unfortunately were beaten 3-2.
Congratulations to all the players who represented the club in all the rounds leading up to the Final and congratulations to Wentworth on their win.
Sylvia McCormack, Jo Bush, Deb Gumley and Jenni Fagan played in the WDLGA Spoons finals and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the Warren players.
Next week events
Next week we will play 18 holes stroke for the Min Brien Trophy Play Off for the GNSW medal round winners.
Players eligible for the play off are:
Cheryl McKeown, Jenny Dresser, Carol Webb, Marcia Ryan, Jenni Fagan, Anne Coates, Lorraine Stubbing, Jenny Armstrong and Helen Butler.
Trophies are to be donated by Elders.
Presentation night
As Cheryl McKeown and Julie Spolding will be representing WDLGA in the 2 Ball vs Par on the date set down for our presentation the committee has changed the date for this event to Thursday, November 16.
This will be an evening dinner to commence at 6pm for 6.30pm.
This Sunday
On Sunday the Mixed Foursomes will be played and any players who would like to play are asked to let Jenny Dresser or Nathan know and they will find partners for you.
There are still some men who require playing partners.
Annual general meeting
The annual general meeting for the Cowra Lady Golfers will be held on Wednesday, October 25 at 2pm following golf.
