Cowra’s McDonald brothers Wesley and Rodney, Paul Braddon, Brad Pearce and Canowindra’s David Grant are just some of the trainers who have entered a bid with hope of negotiating the qualifiers at Sid Kallas Oval.
Chief Russler for Wesley McDonald and Dana Ali for Rodney McDonald feature in the opening heat which is race three on the program.
Chief Russler is aiming for a seventh career win in his 56th start while Dana Ali is making her ninth appearance and is in chase of a second victory.
Heat two puts Rodney McDonald’s trained Hide The Kitty up against Braddon runner Just Magic and Brad Pearce’s Blue Pepper.
Hide The Kitty has the gifted path from box one and is coming off two second place finishes to loom as the one to beat.
Canowindra trainer Grant will look to Flash Grant in heat three to book his spot in the final at Kennerson Park on October 9.
Flash Grant has finished runners up four times in a 19-start career, while chalking up one triumph and a third place finish.
Braddon’s promising youngster Borderline is targeting a third win in just his fifth start while Pearce’s Blue Jedi is also in the running.
Racing starts from 1pm this Saturday.
