Police are encouraging anyone thinking about taking advantage of the national firearms amnesty to do so quickly as time is running out.
The amnesty ends at midnight on September 30.
“It’s a lawful way of disposing unwanted firearms,” Inspector Adam Beard of Cowra Police said.
According to Inspector Beard, the Cowra station has experienced an increase in the amount of surrendered firearms this week.
“There is a push prior to the amnesty ending,” he said.
