The Premier and Ms Cooke held a short press conference in Kendal Street before attending a community event at the Cowra Services Club.
The Premier said Ms Cooke would be a great representative of the Cootamundra electorate if elected in the by-election on October 14.
“Can I say how pleased and thrilled I am to be in Cowra today with the National’s candidate Steph Cooke,” she said.
“Steph’s an outstanding candidate, I’ve actually known her for a long time and know she is part of the heart and soul of the community of Cootamundra.
“And I know the community will be very well served if Steph gets across the line on October 14.”
She said Cowra was a town with substantial growth and that Ms Cooke would fight for community’s needs in government.
“Cowra is steeped in history, a town that's buzzing, the jobs growth here is very positive,” she said.
“Of course, Steph will be a very strong advocate for this community because I know how important it is for all communities to see the services they deserve.”
During her visit, both Premier and Ms Cooke were pressed on issues such as the rising costs of electricity prices. police stations in the Cootamundra electorate and the increasing pressure from the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party.
The Premier said, if elected, Ms Cooke would have full access to both her and the Deputy Premier, John Barilaro.
“We take nothing for granted and that’s really important, I know Steph and her team will be working their guts out,” she said.
“I also want people to know that if I have a strong voice, that has a direct line to me as the Premier and to the Deputy Premier, we can make sure she gets everything she needs.
“And the National Party will make sure that that voice is heard loudly.”
The Cootamundra by-election will take place on October 14.
