The funding was announced by Minister for Disability Services, Ray Williams, and Nationals Candidate Steph Cooke.
“The NDIS is giving people with disabilities the opportunity and right to chose the services and support they need to have the best quality of life,” Mr Williams said.
“It only works when those people understand what they can access and what they can incorporate into their plans and that’s the link that is provided here at the CINC”.
CINC Chief Executive Officer, Fran Stead said the funding is used to conduct consultation with the local community to identify opportunities to grow its disability services.
“It’s been excellent we’ve used it to get people through the door acting as a soft entry point, so when people come to planing their program, they know what they need,” she said.
National Party Candidate for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, said having access to necessary supports is crucial in regional areas where services can be limited.
“We need to ensure local people with disability, carers and families are catered for with the introduction of the NDIS,” she said.
“It’s fantastic to bring these services to rural communities like Cowra. It’s really important that people with disabilities understand all the information and access points available to them and what better place then the CINC,” she said.
