The fatal crash occurred during the early hours of Friday morning when the 29-year-old male driver of a vehicle was travelling from Cowra about 15 kilometres from the Grenfell Road turn off.

The vehicle left the road about 6am and the man received fatal injuries.

Police from Gooloogong and Cowra attended the scene and detectives from Orange were preparing a formal report for the information for the coroner.

Less than 72 hours later, about 12.45pm on Sunday afternoon, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash along the same stretch of road, about 10 kilometres from the Grenfell Road turn off, and about five kilometres from Friday’s fatal crash.

The 17-year-old female driver of the vehile had left the road for unknown reasons, according to police, and collided with a tree.

Passersby helped the driver before emergency services arrived.

She was taken by air ambulance to Orange Health Service for medical treatment.

Police were unsure of her condition at 2pm on Monday afternoon.

Both drivers in the separate crashes were the sole occupants of the vehicles.

Further inquiries were being made by Canobolas Local Area Command police in relation to the circumstances surrounding both the incidents.
