Trundle Boomers host Condobolin Rams in the Woodbridge Cup’s match of the round on Saturday.

The Boomers are building nicely toward the finals and playing at home are always a much harder prospect, they’re sitting second.

Condobolin has been up and down of late, but is coming off a good win over Grenfell which helped the Rams move into the top five.

With that in mind, this derby clash has plenty of the line for both sides.

These derbies are always hard-fought, high-scoring affairs and in this one Trundle holds a slight edge leading in.

The Eugowra Golden Eagles’ slim finals hopes go on the line against Peak Hill on Sunday.

The Eagles are coming off a big 44-16 win over Burrangong while the Roosters lost 36-12 to Trundle last start.

Still in third, the Roosters need to regroup and seal a win to stay in touch with the top two.

With plenty of incentive, there’s always a chance Eugowra could cause an upset.

Competition leaders Manildra host Burrangong, in what’s expected to be a blowout.

Grenfell hosts Cargo in this weekend’s other game, with both sides coming off losses.

Grenfell dropped out of the five as a result while Cargo, in a slight form slump, had dropped from first to third after back-to-back losses to Manildra and Canowindra.

The Blue Heelers must win to hold their place in the top three, not an easy task at Grenfell though.

Discipline is the key for the Heelers, if the side can cut out the silly penalties and backchat there is enough talent in the side to down the Goannas.

In youth league Trundle plays Condobolin and Eugowra plays Canowindra, while it’s a full round of league tag.
