Cowra will be hoping so following last weekend’s nightmare trip to Wade Park, where Rory Brien’s side was outclassed in the 94-point shellacking at the hands of competition leaders Orange CYMS.
The Magpies will travel to Lithgow’s Tony Luchetti Sportsground to take on a resurgent Workies outfit, one fresh off a confidence-boosting 40-14 win over Blayney at King George Oval last week.
Workies is one of three sides, alongside Cowra and Orange Hawks, currently chasing a top five berth.
Despite last weekend’s hammering, Cowra still sits in the box seat, fifth position, on 12 points.
Hawks, in sixth, have accrued 11 competition points while Saturday’s opponent, Lithgow, is hot on their heels in seventh on 10 points.
Cowra’s run isn’t easy though, with all of the side’s remaining four games on the road.
After this round’s clash with Workies, the Magpies take on fellow finals hopefuls Bathurst St Pat’s (eight place, eight points) and Hawks – all three clashes vital to Cowra’s finals aspirations.
The Magpies also travel to Carrington Park to take on the second-placed Bathurst Panthers and enjoy a final round bye.
Cowra’s 2017 Group 10 premier league campaign goes on the line at Lithgow on Saturday, proceedings starting with league tag from 10am.
Premier league is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm at Lithgow.
