Ms Nareen Sing addressed Cowra Council in regards to her dog being classed as a “dangerous dog” and being held in Cowra Pound.
“I’m here to address you on my dog, Jetta, you have her locked up in Cowra pound,” she said.
“My next door neighbour put in a complaint about my black dog. When they moved in there, first I let them go for a week.
“I went over and introduced myself, said that I had a black dog and occasionally she gets out, she’s a beast, she’s big, she's not dangerous.
“The most dangerous you’re going to get is she might knock you over with her weight.”
Ms Sing said her dog was accused of killing her neighbour’s chickens and was taken to the pound by the ranger after getting out of the yard.
“Generally when she gets out, the last ranger I asked him… what do I do to stop getting these fines? He said desex her, microchip her, register her,” she said.
“He said she is the most well-mannered dog we’ve had out at the pound.”
Ms Sing went on to express her disapproval of Council potentially adopting the dog out.
“And your downstairs Adopt-A-Dog, that dog has cost me over $20,000… to get her where she is, to be trained, she’s a companion animal and you want to adopt her out?”
“I find that highly offensive and abuse of power.”
Ms Sing went on to discuss the Federal Government’s plans to introduce a cashless card for those on welfare who do not pass a drug test.
“Quite frankly, your Government sucks,” she said.
Earlier that morning, Ms Sing was seen in front of Cowra Council Chambers protesting her dog’s confiscation. Local police were called to the scene where they asked her to move on.
