TRUST and self belief – that is what St Pat’s coach Kurt Hancock wants his players to have this Sunday as they attempt to climb the Group 10 premier league ladder with a win against Lithgow.

After five rounds the Saints have just one win, yet Hancock’s men are only two points outside the top four given the close nature of most of the team’s in this year’s premiership.
It means that the slow start is no reason for Hancock to be overly concerned, but the coach knows his Saints need to find some winning touch soon or the pressure will start to mount.
In order to do that, Hancock says his players must start to back themselves.
“I think we need to start believing in each other, the guys need to believe in themselves as individuals and trust each other as well,” he said.
“We’ve got to the point now where we need to back ourselves. I think we were a bit conservative last week, but that’s not how Pat’s play.”
This Sunday the Saints will play at home and with only one away match in the five rounds which follow, Hancock feels it is the ideal chance for his side to start stringing wins together.
However, he also knows Lithgow will be just as hungry to add to its tally of one win from five rounds.
“I think you are going to see two desperate teams on the weekend, Lithgow, when you look at them they’ve got a fair side too,” Hancock said. “They are going to be physical in the middle, they never die wondering in the middle, and it’s going to be tough early on.”
Premier league will kick-off at 1.45pm Sunday.
