Aged care residence Weeroona has been put into lock down due to a recent gastro outbreak, says Director of Nursing at Weeroona Aged Care Residence, Bronwyn Sharp.
“We get our direction from public health so we’ll just have to ride it out basically,” she said.
“It’s a day by day basis, we don’t know when it will end”.
Ms Sharp reported that the lock down started last Tuesday and that residents’ families can contact Weeroona to see if visiting is an option.
“It’s a vomiting and diarrhea bug that’s currently in the community at the moment unfortunately,” she said.
“They (residents families) can continue to contact us and we’ll let them know whether they are able to visit or not”.
