Alan will be supporting the Steven Walter Children's Cancer Foundation (SWCCF), which has a vision of 100% survival for all children. He said he began supporting the SWCCF after attending the Foundation’s Snowy Road for the past ten years.
“We thought it would be a good idea so my mates and I joined up,” Alan said.
“It’s a great cause to support.”
SWCCF is committed to fundraising partnerships offering financial support for vital research so that every child with cancer can be guaranteed a future and an improved quality of life. Steven Walter died after an eight year battle with cancer at age 19.
He requested that money be raised for research and support of children with cancer, "so that one day no other kid will have to go through what I've been through."
Alan said he hoped to raise $3000 towards the cause however has smashed his target.
“So far I’ve raised $3500 and with the bike raise another $4800 so hopefully over $8000,” he said.
