A 46-year-old Orange man has died after his sedan collided with a truck on Wednesday, 27 kilometres north of Yass.

The crash occurred on Lachlan Valley Way near Kangiara around 9pm.

A 68-year-old Victorian man who was driving the truck was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.
Emergency services were called to the scene and police established a crime scene with an investigation under way.
