Hundreds walked lap after lap in the name of raising funds for the Cancer Council, celebrating those who have fought through cancer battles and remembering those who we have lost.
Relay for Life Committee Chairperson Brock Cameron said an estimated $25,000 was raised from the event, with the official total yet to be confirmed.
“It was great, we didn’t raise as much as we hoped but we still raised something,” he said.
“We had a lot of people participating, there were always people on the track at any time, even during the night.”
Around 273 people and 23 registered teams registered online before the event, however Brock said the total number of people ended up being more than 350 during the 24 hour relay.
“We did get a lot of visitors,” he said.
“Thankfully the weather was kind to us.”
