Cowra local Pam Porter has gone under the razor and has raised more than $2700 for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave. 

In front of family and friends at the Lachlan Hotel on Friday night, Pam was brave and shaved for the great cause, enlisting local hairdresser Karen Budge to help with the shave. 

On Friday night, her total amount of money raised hit the $1500 however on Sunday night the exact total raised was $2714.19, the majority of that in cash from friends, family and locals in town. 

Pam said she was keen to lose her locks before her big shave. 

“Mate I can’t wait, I want them off, get rid of them.” 

She said she had been meaning to do it for some time now and this was the perfect opportunity.

“It’s a good chance to cut all of my hair off and raise some funds for a good cause,” she said. 

“I don’t know anyone who isn’t directly affected by cancer or knows someone affected by cancer.”
