Pitch Fork organiser Garth Collins says the event is a celebration of our wonderful outdoor Aussie lifestyle, our love of the bush, camping, wholesome family fun, cooking outside and just sitting around the campfire with good food, good people and good yarns.
Mr Collins said anyone attending can expect a fun filled weekend with entertainment the whole family will enjoy.
“We’re looking for bush cooks, entertainers and stallholders to transform the Cowra Showground into the ultimate camping experience on Saturday, June 10,” Mr Collins said.
Already on the program is camp oven cooking, demonstrations and competitions, bush poetry, bands, markets, great food, workshops and dance performances.
While there will be lots happening on the sidelines Mr Collins said organisers are primarily looking for a camp oven champion.
“We want to know your best camp-oven recipe, and if your recipe beats the rest you'll win yourself a fair degree of cooking kudos,” Mr Collins said.
“If you’re a local entertainer or someone who enjoys a sing-a-long we want to hear your talent.
“We have a few spots left on our festival program for Saturday and we want to showcase the best entertainers Central NSW has to offer,” Mr Collins said.
If you think you fit the bill contact Pitch-Fork Cowra on 02 6342 1169 for more information.
Stallholders also have the opportunity to take part but Mr Collins says they are looking for quality over quantity with a cap on stallholder sites.
“We encourage applications from local charity organisations, food vendors, exciting new products, service and activity providers.
“If you have a good quality product or stall, that is well presented, we'd like to hear from you.”
Stallholders can find out more information from the Cowra Pitch Fork website www.pitchforkcowra.com
Camping will be available for motor homes, caravans, camper trailers, tents and swags.
“Camping on-site for the full week leading up to Pitch Fork Cowra is by far the best way to immerse yourself in all that Cowra has to offer,” Mr Collins said.
“Campsites are available from June 9 and your camping fee allows you to stay for as many nights as you like during that time,” he said.
“Shower and toilet facilities are available in the camping grounds for the full week.”
Tickets for Pitch Fork, at $20 per person (over 15) will be available at the gate but Mr Collins encourages booking ahead at the Pitch Fork website. Under 15s are free.
