Stopping by the Cowra Guardian, spokesperson and former Olympian Daniel Kowalski and Director of the Equality Campaign Tiernan Brady said they want locals to know that this issue is not confined to city areas.
“It’s about visibility for marriage equality in every part of Australia,” Mr Brady said.
“Regional towns get forgotten, real change comes when lesbian and gay people get equality in the community they live in.”
Mr Brady is urging residents to write to their local MP’s to voice their support for marriage equality.
“It stops being a story and starts being a person,” he said.
“No one should be worried about approaching their MP.”
