A 65-year-old woman has changed her plea regarding contravening an AVO from not guilty to guilty at Cowra Local Court on Wednesday, February 22 resulting in her being issued a section 10 bond to be of good behaviour for 12 months.

Annette Hilda Byrd, representing herself, backflipped on the not guilty plea she entered at Cowra Local Court on January 11 instead pleading guilty to the offence she committed on October 31 last year.
The AVO was made to protect the victim at Tumut Local Court on October 25 including an order that the defendant must not approach or contact the protected person by any means whatsoever, except through legal representation.
The court heard Byrd was deeply embarrassed and ashamed of a letter she wrote to the protected person and had contacted them to apologise.
In a police statement it’s revealed Byrd sent text messages to the victim about 9.08am on October 31 saying “I’m truly sorry… So sorry for everything.”
About 7.30pm on Friday, November 4 Byrd was cautioned by police and charged with the offence.
Dual driving charges
A 19-year-old male who has never had a driver’s licence has faced Magistrate Peter Dare at Cowra Local Court on two driving charges after being caught behind the wheel with alcohol in his system.
Depite not having a driver’s licence, Jumara Cutmore has been suspended from driving for three months as well as being issued a section 10 bond to be of good behaviour for 12 months and fined $300.
About 8.30pm on Friday, January 20, Cutmore was driving a Ford Laser that was stopped by police for the purpose of an RBT.
Police said Cutmore exited the driver’s seat, approached police and admitted to not having a driver’s licence.
Police stated they could smell alcohol on Cutmore’s breath so he was subjected to a breath test which returned a positive reading of .077.
Magistrate Dare warned Cutmore that if he’s caught driving again without a licence he’ll be “off the track” for three years.
