Cowra Eisteddfod caters for all those interested in the performing arts, from children to adults, with sections for soloists, duo/trios and groups in Vocal, Instrumental, Speech & Drama and Dance.
A new Vocal section introduced this year is “Song From A Movie” for performers from six years and under to 16 years.
There are also Local Sections for singers living or taught in the Cowra Shire, from 12 years and under to Open Adult Sections.
Prizemoney in all Open Championships has been increased to $300 and Scholarships to $2,000, thanks to the generosity of our many sponsors.
The Patricia Fagan Operatic Aria Championship now carries total Prizemoney of $15,000 which is donated by the Calleen Trust, and draws first class competitors from all over the state. This competition will be held on the weekend of June 20 and 21.
If you enjoy outstanding quality of singing, please mark these dates in your calendar and come along to the Cowra Civic Centre to enjoy some amazing performances.
Other sections that will be finalised that weekend will include the Farleigh Vocal Scholarship with prizemoney of $4,000 – which is provided by peter and Christine Delaney – and the Open Choir Section which is sponsored by the Cowra Services Club.
A fantastic weekend of singing to entertain the people of Cowra. The Cowra Eisteddfod Committee have been working hard with preparations for the up–coming Eisteddfod, and once again are looking for volunteers to assist with the daily running of the performances over the three week period from May 17 to June 8.
If you are willing to assist for any session during this period please contact committee@cowraeisteddfod.com.au – or any committee member with your details. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
