I have not said the people nominated are not worthy of their nomination, they all are. What I am saying, the awards should be fully independent, and I believe they are not.
First of all, I believe, there is a conflict of interest. Like I said in my letter, how can someone who has been nominated for the award, then have someone from the same organisation be on the judging panel?
I say again, the judging should be fully independent. Until this situation is rectified I will not be happy, nor will I attend any Australia Day events. I am still waiting to see the names on the judging panel.
I will always stand by my opinions.
