Prior to Christmas the Cowra Guardian ran a series of articles on the health of the town.
If you missed the articles some of the alarming statistics revealed were that 23 per cent of Cowra residents still smoke and 18 per cent drink alcohol at risky levels.
Possibly of even more concern were the figures, from the Australian Health Tracker, which revealed that 20.6 per cent of us are living with high blood pressure.
If you missed week one of Bring Healthy Back last week no need to worry.
You can still sign up for the challenge at the Cowra Neighbourhood Centre in Vaux Street.
Bring Healthy Back should not be mistaken as a weight loss challenge, it’s about complete health and well-being.
Week 2 of the challenge is about trying something new.
It might be a new recipe, a new dance move, planting a vegetable garden and taking part in a new sporting activity.
Cowra offers a plethora of sporting activities, many of which are extremely affordable, especially for participants looking for an introduction to the sport.
As an added bonus to feeling better about yourself at the end of the 10 week challenge, you’ll probably have a lot more energy to get you through the day.
Plus you’ll have the chance to win $1000 in cash by attending the Bring Healthy Back awards night on May 27.
