Australian Rotary Health is one of the largest independent funders of mental health research within Australia.
They also provide funding into a broad range of general health areas, provide scholarships for rural medical and nursing students, as well as Indigenous health students.
All Rotarians and their partners dressed up for the occasion and a visiting Rotary Club Nextgen from south east Queensland swelled the numbers.
President Ken Harris opened the meeting, completed some Rotary business then handed proceedings over to The Spiv Bros who were back in town (again) to run the sweepstakes.
All Rotarians and their partners were generous in their support for the Cup and for Mental Health.
Past President Larry Walsh called the race in excellent style.
After correct weight was signalled, winners collected their money and all profits went to Australian Rotary Health.
Fashion on the field was a big part of the evening.
Judges Ken Harris and Diane Walsh had a difficult time assessing the fashions.
Finally after much deliberation the winners were announced with the prizes going to Heather Yarker and Ross Ballinger.
