Remember to let Geoff know by November 12 if you're attending the ULB Christmas Party on November 26.
On Tuesday, November 8, an evening walk across Cowra's 'turtle' hills from the Lookout to POW Campsite may extend around the Research Station, depending on who accompanies Judy, leaving Billy Goat Hill at 5pm.
On Sunday, November 13, we'll head to Bakers Shaft for a Belubula River walk/swim/BBQ near Mandurama; contact Geoff.
On Sunday, November 20, Orange is the destination, from Gosling Creek Reserve to Lake Canobolas via a Cellar Door or two; contact Jan N. Sunday walks usually leave from Cowra Visitor Centre at 9am.
Walked in October
Wyangala's backwater creeks had rare waterfalls, with a thundering flow down Oaky Creek on Sunday, October 2, for half a dozen walking up Sugarloaf Mountain for 360 degree views over a full Wyangala Dam.
Ten kilometres were walked between three of Cowra's Open Gardens on October 9 to enjoy the efforts made over many years by these keen gardeners, topped off with McKay’s hospitality in their backyard bird garden.
The following weekend, three days of long walks of the National Pass, Leura Cascades to Katoomba along the Federal Pass and up the Scenic Railway or Furber Steps, and Gordon Falls Reserve were enjoyed by up to 15, regrettably without our organising couple. Their news is all good, though.
We welcomed the advice of Don from Blue Mountains Conservation Society. Unfortunately, this weekend away meant the re-scheduled Brundah Falls walk with Weddin Wanderers was missed.
Some wonderful experienced eyes, ears and memory of guests helped identify birds in the backyard of Conimbla's wooded hills as part of National Bird Week on Sunday, October 23.
The knowledge of Athol, Shirley, Helen and Neale was much admired and appreciated, adding a new dimension to a short walk along the Ironbarks Trail to the lookout. The plan to head along Cherry Creek was curtailed by the flow of water.
Meeting November 1
This Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Cowra Services Club is the next meeting of Upper Lachlan Bushwalkers.
As you can see from above, we have most of November’s Sundays planned, right up to ULB's Christmas Party on Saturday November 26, so keep in touch through one of us mentioned above or anyone you recognise in the photo. Non-members are welcome on three walks as guests of ULB before joining, so there's no excuse for not enjoying our company, the exercise and the bush right at your doorstep!
