Summer Williams and her young children were spending the day at the Gold Coast theme park when four adults were killed on the Thunder River Rapids ride.
“Being there on this day also with my own family was so upsetting when the aim was simply to have fun!” Ms Williams wrote to the Canowindra News.
“A day we will never forget... for the wrong reasons...
“R.I.P. To the family's (sic) ruined by this!”
Ms Williams goes on to say it was the ride in the park her family did not go on.
“We are shaken that's for sure... scared to go do more theme parks ever again…” she said.
“...counting my blessings we didn't get in that ride... the only one in dreamworld we did not get on...”
Kate Goodchild, her brother Luke Dorsett and his partner Roozbeh Araghi were killed alongside 42-year-old Cindy Low.
