Falcon’s Fury was hugely impressive in the heats, finishing within milliseconds of the track’s distance record, and he carried that form into the final sealing the series victory by seven-lengths from runner-up Dana Big Karl.
Launching from box eight, Falcon’s Fury stopped the clock at a time of 25.88s.
Dana Big Karl, trained by Cowra’s Rodney McDonald, ran second while Pamela Braddon’s Spring Jazz filled the minor placings.
Falcon’s Fury is a big chance to continue his winning form this Thursday in the final of the $4000-to-the-winner Ladbrokes Lesley Ann Memorial Mixed Final 400m at Dubbo.
He qualifies as the second fastest greyhound from last week’s heat, having clocked a slick time of 22.52s.
Only the Dennis Barnes trained Nangar Rock, who produced a stunning performance in heat three and won by more than 16 lengths, set a faster qualifying time with 22.50s.
The final is the main event on the program of Thursday’s Dubbo Greyhound Racing Club meeting.
Earlier ion Saturday, Woodstock based trainer Richard Griffiths had success with his debutante Nothing Yet who won the Bats Fruits Maiden (327m).
The son of Kilty Lad and Corgi Griffo edged out Wesley McDonald’s King Fusion at a winning time of 19.36s, following one trial at Bathurst over 307m.
Griffiths scored a second win with One Cold Foot registering her second triumph from a four start career, passing the post first in the Cowra Shire Flying Stakes (327m).
Wallendbeen-based trainer Lorraine Roy also bagged a winning-double.
Cowra Greyhound Club President Peter McDonald said the crowd was monstrous, and is hoping to gather the same amount of interest at future meetings.
Cowra’s next meeting will be on Saturday, November 26.
