Hughes and fellow left-hander Nic Maddinson (112) combined for a mammoth 192-run second wicket partnership, in the Blues’ successful pursuit of Victoria’s 309.
Hughes was bowled with 38-runs required and eight overs remaining, as NSW went on to win in the 47th over.
Hughes’ hundred is his first for NSW in the one-day format.
He’s scored 267 runs in six innings so far this competition.
Meanwhile, it was announced on Monday morning that Hughes is signed for the Sydney Sixers for this summer’s Big Bash League.
