What better way to include men then to celebrate National Beer Day?
Staff and residents enjoyed the day with a quiz, prizes and enjoyed a mid-strength or light beer or shandy for the ladies with lunch.
Vanessa said it they were mindful of responsible service of alcohol among the residents.
“I told all of the residents they had to be over 18 to participate,” Vanessa said.
“They have been looking forward to this for a long time.”
One of the highlights of the day included the Beer Pick a Box Quiz, where residents were asked a series of beer-related questions and got to pick from 20 different prize boxes if they were correct. Some of questions included:
- According to the Guinness Book of World Records, what is the record for drinking a litre of beer?
- What does Zythology mean?
- Name the world’s largest beer festival.
Prizes included packets of chips to enjoy with their beer, stubbie holders and rings that doubled as bottle openers.
