Cowra Councillor Bill West was re-elected as Mayor for the next two years.
He was the only formal nomination for the role.
There were two formal nominations for the role of Deputy Mayor, Councillor Judi Smith and Councillor Peter Wright.
Cr Smith was re-elected to the position, winning six votes to three votes.
She will now hold the title for the next two years.
Cr West said he looks forward to working with the newly elected Cowra Shire Council.
“I’m interested in the best interest for our community and our Council,” Cr West said.
“I look forward to working with each and every one of you, all of you, in a stable environment and working as a team.”
He thanked members and staff at Council for their continued support and dedication over the past four years and into the future.
“Thank you for the opportunity,” Cr West said.
“To the General Manager (Paul Devery) and senior staff for always providing advice.
“And to our Deputy Mayor, congratulations and I wish you all the best.”
He also paid tribute to Cowra’s newest Councillors, Michael Nobes and Ian Whitty.
“I want to acknowledge their are two new Councillors, I welcome you both to the Chamber.”
“Good luck!”
He also paid tribute to former Councillors Jack Mallon and Ian Brown.
Mr Brown retired before the local Council election whilst Mr Mallon was not re-elected to Council.
“I want to acknowledge Jack Mallon,” Cr West said.
“33 years is a significant contribution to Council and the community.”
Cnr Judi Smith thanked her colleagues for her re-election as Deputy Mayor.
“I would like to thank all of the Councillors for their faith in my abilities, I look forward to working with the Mayor and Councillors,” she said.
Cnr Ray Walsh also acknowledged former Councillors Jack Mallon and Ian Brown.
“I want to pay tribute to the two Councillors not with us anymore… Lots of service to our community and I think it’s fitting we acknowledge the work they have done,” Cr Walsh said.
