As visitor numbers continue to sky rocket this year’s show is set to be a cracking social event.
The showground will come alive again with the hype of traditional agriculturally-focused affairs: pavilion exhibits, horse events, and yard dog trails.
Moving with the times, Morongla Show not only encompasses country pursuits but so much more, such as its decorated hay bale art competition, man made chocolate cake action, welding exhibit, junior judging contest and the list goes on.
With the aim to positively progress the show movement, new to 2016 are some exciting section additions.
“Butter cake in my Thermomix” is one for talented cooks, or those with a sharp eye “Digital manipulation” is new to the photography class.
How about creating a “pot plant stand” to enter into the welding exhibit?
All new sections are clearly marked in the Morongla Show Schedule which can be found online and on the Morongla Show Facebook page.
While flicking through the schedule, be sure to focus on the Patchwork and ‘Miss and Master of Show’ sections which have a fresh new look!
Exciting opportunities for the entire family will arise on show day as the Iron man and Iron women competition calls for teams to display their level of elite athleticism in various obstacles for a chance to win the major prize.
With the wet weather causing a bit of havoc at the Cowra Show, the Cowra Show Young Farmers Challenge has been rescheduled and will be taking place at this year’s Morongla Show.
Participants must form a team of four with at least one member of the opposite sex and aged between 18-34.
This event kicks off at 10.30am.
Another fantastic addition offers the children the opportunity to show off their bugging engineering skills, constructing their own paper plane which will take flight in the inaugural ‘Morongla Paper Plane Championships’!
Oh and make sure the family casts their vote for the best decorated hay bale.
More hay bales have been popping up along the Boorowa Road and in Morongla itself so keep your eyes peeled for the creativity of our local residents.
Gates from 7am with activities starting at 10.30am.
Admission is a fair dinkum price of $6 per adult and $2 per child 6-15 years.
For more information, check out the Morongla Show Facebook page or www.agshowsnsw.org.au/index.php/shows/173-morongla-show for the schedule of events and information about the pavilion.
