Sean Smith, Hayley Harding and Emily Whatman were selected from Year 7/8 whilst Airi Nishihara and Kyesha Ingram were semi-finalists from Year 9/10.
The entries came about after the students took part in a series of free workshops run by Sally Morgan from the Moran Arts Foundation
Hayley Harding said they took what they learnt from the workshop and applied it to their photographs.
“It’s really good, we learnt about angles, composition,” she said.
“It’s pretty cool.”
Cowra High art teacher Lucy Vaughn said the students had done extremely well considering the amount of students from both private and public schools around Australia who entered the competition.
“The amount of people who entered, it’s a pretty big thing,” she said.
The students were able to select a number of photographs to enter the competition.
Airi Nishihara said she was surprised the judges her photograph.
“Of the four pictures entered, I didn’t think it was that good,” Airi said.
The winners of the Moran Photography Awards will be announced on October 24.
