Jets maintained a lead throughout the match on their way to recording the 13-point win, somewhat making up for their two-point loss suffered in the 2015 grand final.
Jets’ captain Amy O’Reilly praised her side and identified her goal-attack Danielle Hudson as the difference on the day.
“It was a good game the girls played really well. We were never down during the game,” Royces’ Jets captain Amy O’Reilly said.
“Danielle Hudson played extremely well, she was our player of the grand final but we’ve played really well as a unit all season.”
“It was a big thrill to play as well as we did in the grand final. They [Cowra Carpet Cleaning] are a very good team, they’re extremely fit and agile whereas we’re quite mature,” she laughed.
“It was played in great spirits.”
Jets are shaping as premiership contenders again in 2017 with O’Reilly expecting her side to be relatively unchanged, minus a few.
“We’re losing a couple who are going to university, they are such lovely girls to play alongside. But the rest of us should be there again,” she said.
In B grade, Eyespy Beauty defeated First National 48-42 in what was arguably the best game of the day, while in the 12s/14s LPC Juniors kept Thompson’s Transport at bay winning 35-19.
