Saturday the Cowra Golf Club held a 4BBB Stableford event sponsored by the Sovereign Inn Cowra. We thank them for their continued generous support of the club. 39 golfers tested the authors prediction that the rain would stop at 11.15am and much to everyone's surprise it proved to be remarkably accurate!

Jacob McNaught continued his recent red hot form leading he and partner John Bischof to a win with a score of 45 points. Noah Ryan scoring his first podium finish as a golfer, partnering fellow junior Matt Thompson to share the equal second best score of the day with James Brown and Brendan Mundy.
First Jacob McNaught and John Bischof 45 points, second James Brown and Brendan Mundy 43 points C/B and third was Matt Thompson and Noah Ryan 43 points C/B.
Subway NTP's: fifth John Van Huizen, seventh Knocka Dolbel, 14th Jacob MCNaught. Ball rundown went to 41 points.
Next Saturday is the September Monthly Medal sponsored by Cowra Meat Processors. It also includes the Chris Walsh Financial free lesson with professional Matt Docking for the worst score and the Bagz Brady putting improvement reward.
Last Thursday saw 15 vets took to the fairways. Alan Luff was the best of them scoring a win with 16 points. The last voucher went to Ray Anderson on 12 points.
In the Thursday pro comp there was only six starters. I suspect that everyone thought the weather was going to be far worse than the perfect day it turned out to be. Jeff Macpherson was the winner with 36 points.
Tuesday’s chook run, seven players battled it out for a voucher. Bruce Amos and John Webster were the victors taking the spoils while Ron Newham won the Turkey for the month.
September 24 we have the Cowra Golf Club’s Holden Scramble Qualifier sponsored generously by Brad Savage and his team at Waugoola Motors.
The event here this year will be an invitational event with every team required to have at least two Cowra Golf Club members playing. This is at the discretion of our club Professional Matt Docking who would like to reward Cowra members with the trip to the regional final.
September 21-23, Cowra Golf Club will hold the Cowra Seniors Tournament for 2016 sponsored by the Cowra Services Club Motel. Entries taken by the pro shop.
