This dedicated and enthusiastic group of Cowra young people have been involved in an impressive line-up of projects in the past 12 months and have just opened invitations for a band of new recruits to carry on their great work.
Included in their projects over the past 12 months have been the “Hands Up for headspace” fundraising campaign, hosting the World Peace Day Youth Forum, conducting 11 Community Cinema screenings at Cowra’s Premiere Theatre which they also helped name.
The have also obviously been involved in coordinating 2016 Youth Week activities.
One of the real highlights of the Youth Council program this year was their work coordinating Cowra’s first colour running event, ‘Colour Me Happy’, as part of this year’s Festival of International Understanding.
The event was a big success with 559 registered entrants of all ages taking part and $8,400 raised for the Cowra PCYC.
Applications to join the 2017 Cowra Youth Council are now open to young people aged 12-24 living or attending school in the Cowra Shire.

In other Youth Council news, do you love art and design? Do you want to have your creative design seen across NSW? Are you aged between 12 – 25 years?
If so you should enter the Youth Week 2017 Design Competition.
The winner will receive a $1,000 CASH prize and see your work used in a state-wide marketing campaign!
