Mr Wilkinson has been teaching for 22 years and a principal for 19 years at various schools across NSW including Merriwagga, Yetman, Manildra, relieving at Orange East Public School and Bowen Public School as well as acting as a senior education officer at the Department of Education, prior to coming to Cowra Public School.
Mr Wilkinson said he was looking forward to keeping the quality of education at the school at a high standard.
“The focus is always on student learning and supporting the families and kids with their wellbeing, and as a principal stepping in to help sort out issues if children aren’t getting on and patting the back of the kids that are doing really, really well.
“It’s a diverse roll but to sum it up the role of the principal is to make sure the systems work to support the students, teachers and families, to help solve problems and keep the educational learning at a high standard,” he said.
