The club would like to thank Lachlan Engineering for their continued support of Cowra Golf and welcome Mick and Doug on board as a new sponsor.
On a day that was perfect for golf, we witnessed friends punish each other with poor shots and then follow it up with a laugh and perhaps a few tears here and there.
Foursomes is a tough game to master and few did it better than Ben Core and Grant Glendenning who fired a fantastic nett 66 in the alternate shot format to claim the score of the day.
In A Grade two teams couldn't be separated after 18 holes and had to head back to the 18th for a playoff to determine the 2016 Foursomes Champions.
Wally Webb and partner Rod McDonald took on 2 time defending champions Leigh Browne and Jacob Moodie after both teams signed for 76 in regulation play.
After a fantastic wedge shot into the green from Jacob Moodie and an even better pitch from Rod McDonald it came down to a putt off.
Browne and Moodie struggled to find the bottom of the hole leaving it to Webb and McDonald to 2 putt and take the victory.
B Grade was almost as tight with Dion McAlister and Simon MacKinney taking a 1 shot victory over Les Pinkerton and John Holmes.
The highlight of the day in B Grade was Scott Wilson.
He discovered after 8 years that his 1 iron that he never used was in fact a 4 iron!!
As they say some mothers do av'em.
