Kristy Bognar from the Cowra Golf Club knows this all too well after signing up for the Fairfax Marketing Service’s full media package, which is a one-stop shop for print, online and digital marketing options.
She says it has given the Club a chance to revamp their online presence.
“Our website was very old and outdated,” she said.
“It wasn’t mobile or iPad friendly and so many people use them, I hardly do anything on a computer anymore.”
She said the new website had enabled the Club to instantly update golf results on the weekend, advertise the many facilities at the Golf Club and is much more user friendly.
“We have lots of people comment on how good it is,” she said.
Cowra Guardian Sales Consultant Brent Young said it’s crucial local businesses have websites that are able to be accessed on any device.
“If you’re not thinking mobile and tablet in 2016, you’re not living in 2016,” he said.
“You own your website, it's your home.”
Brent also stressed the need for businesses to not only rely on Facebook and other social media sites to advertise their goods and services.
“It’s important to have a social presence but at any moment Facebook could change its policies. Don't build your house on rented land” he said.
Fairfax Marketing Strategies could help clients create an online presence, reach more customers and build brand loyalty through targeted digital marketing solutions.
Despite more than 90 per cent of Australians using the internet, only 64 percent of small and medium businesses have a website.
Brent says it’s also a matter of getting people to that website, through the use of strategies such as Search Engine Optimisation and Google Adwords Campaigns.
“It’s all well and good to have a website but then it’s getting people to that website,” he said.
"Every business can benefit from online advertising and we have solutions for everyone."
