Leading the Bathurst District Second Grade competition, and riding the momentum of six back to back wins, coach Gambrill says a top two finish is now a realistic goal.
Cowra are guaranteed at least four more regular round games, with the possibility of playing the week 11 wash-out.
“We haven’t seen a loss in awhile I think winning becomes a habit,” Gambrill said.
“I thought if we could make the finals it would be a good result but with the success we’ve had, I’m hoping we can finish top two and get the second opportunity [at qualifying for the grand final].”
This Sunday, Gambrill’s men host Lithgow Workies in a top of the table clash, following Workies’ 4-0 thumping of Cowra previously this year.
Gambrill described his side’s performance as the worst of the year.
“It’s not a matter of getting revenge it’s about doing justice to ourselves,” Gambrill said.
“The next two weeks are going to go a long way to getting a top two finish.”
Cowra meet Lithgow at Edgell Park on Saturday from 3pm.
