Last week the Cowra Ladies Golf Tournament Presentation night was held on Thursday night June 16 following two days of golf, played in three Divisions, with Ladies from 18 clubs participating.

Wonderful weather with the course in immaculate condition helped make this years Tournament particularly enjoyable for everyone.
Cheryl McKeown from Cowra was the winner of the Cowra Open Cup and the Jean Peterswald Salver having had 169 over 36 holes. Annette Baggie from Killara was runner up with 182.
Cheryl was also the Handicap winner with 147 Nett, 5 shots clear of Sylvia McCormack.
Division II was a Grenfell affair with Jan Myers winning both Scratch and Handicap with 191 and nett 145 respectively while Val Forsythe was the runner-up with scratch 197 and nett 153.
Division II went to Wakehurst player Jan Van Den Broek with 209 shots off the stick with Shirley Mawhanney from Grenfell the runner-up on 213. Carole Doyle was Division III Handicap winner over 36 holes with 147 nett after a countback from Jan Van Den Broek.
Thursday’s event was won in Division I by Jenny Dresser on 89 scratch, 2 shots ahead of Sue Smith also from Cowra. The Handicap winner was Annette Thomas from Canowindra on nett 75 with Sue Smith runner-up on 76 nett. Jan Nichol from Wakehurst won the PAR event with -1 after a countback from Jenny Dresser.
In Division II Julie Fairley from Canowindra won both the scratch and handicap with 95 and nett 74, with Elizabeth Shepherd from Moss Vale scratch runner-up on 100 and Marcia Ryan Handicap runner-up with nett 78. Marcia Ryan from Cowra won the PAR with a square with Elizabeth Shepherd PAR runner-up on -3.
Division III’s 18 holes scratch on Thursday went to Sally Percy from Forbes with 106 after a countback from Shirley Mawhinney from Grenfell. Carole Doyle was the Handicap winner with nett 71 with runner-up Jenny Armstrong on nett 77.
Sally Perry from Forbes won the PAR event with a square with Jenny Armstrong runner-up on -1. The Presentation Dinner was well attended by both local and visiting players.
After five days of constant rain the Lady Golfers were able to play on Wednesday June 22nd with some competitive scores carded.
The fairways are lush and the greens quite a fast run, some bunkers were holding water, light rain and wind was around for awhile but the day finally had sun creeping through some blue sky to make some enjoyable golfing for the associates competing the 18 hole Stableford event.
Thank you to Marcia McPherson for sponsoring the prizes. Winner for the day was Jenny Dresser with 33 points on count back from Debbie Gumley 33 points. Ball competition winners Jenny Dresser, Debbie Gumley and Jo Bush 31 points.
Sylvia McCormack was the only nearest the pin which was the Coogee Kelpie Kelpie Stud 14th green, no player managed to reach the 5th and 7th greens. Winner of the raffle was Jo Bush first, second Margaret Southwell.
The pennants team will play Condobolin on Friday June 24 at Condobolin after being washed out on June 10.
